When Mark Noonan and I set out to write The Worst President in History: The Legacy of Barack Obama, it began as a sort of cathartic reaction to Obama’s reelection in 2012. We had no idea if anyone would read it, but we felt someone had to write a book that documented everything bad about the Obama administration that was being ignored or covered up by the media. On July 4, 2016, we self-published the fruits of our labors… and the book was a tremendous success. We quickly attracted the attention of Tantor Audio, and sold the audiobook rights to them in December 2016.
The book’s success continued, we’ve managed to maintain a very high ranking on Amazon, staying in the top spots in various categories, and selling thousands and thousands of copies. The success of that book helped me get a book deal with Bombardier Books for my forthcoming book, The Scandalous Presidency of Barack Obama, which is due out in April, and currently available for pre-order.
Today, I can announce that Bombardier Books has just bought the paperback rights for The Worst President in History: The Legacy of Barack Obama. Later this year they will publish an updated and expanded version of the book.
This is a very exciting development, as the timing of the book’s original release meant we weren’t able to document the entire presidency of Barack Obama. But, now, all the ugly details will be brought up to date, and new information added. We are currently hard at work adding new material and updating the original manuscript. This also means that we’ll be getting distribution through Simon & Schuster, putting the book on bookshelves and libraries across the country—something we were previously unable to do with it being self-published.
We expect great things from this new opportunity!
